Yes it does snow in northern Arizona. A few weeks ago we got over 12 inches of snow in Flagstaff and in the Grand Canyon. That is what inspired me to paint this. We hardly ever see paintings of winter in the Grand Canyon. I hope you like this one as much as I did painting it.
Carol has been a professional artist for over fifty years, mastering calligraphy, watercolors and now acrylics. She studied at the Cooper School of Art in Cleveland, Ohio, and took many private classes but considers herself to be a self taught artist. Using lots of detail, bright and bold colors and sometimes a touch of humor, has won her many awards. She continues to win awards today. She has been published and has a painting in the Postal Museum of the Smithsonian. Carol is a realist so she paints what she sees in her particular style. She loves nature and enjoys painting flowers, landscapes and some abstracts. She applies a lot of layering in her paintings no matter the subject matter.
